Tuscany hills

I don't really remember where I took this view from. Somewhere on the road between Siena and Montepulciano. The weather was stormy and cold, as it was fall, but the colors as the sun got lower were awesome. The warm sunlight against the cool shadowy distant hills was quite a contrast. I hope you like. More soon as I am gearing up for my first show in Balboa island, called the Balboa Island Artwalk.

This painting is of a famous little church at the bottom of the hill town of "Montpulciano" in Tuscany, which is famous for its fabulous wine, and has some pretty good cheese too. Sold

As I've been involved with architecture for so many years, I can't help being fascinated with the antique buildings in Italy. As well, the chimneys have such individual character so as to suggest the style of each dwelling.

This was along a road near the "Grand Piazza" in Montepulciano. Sold

This next one is a little scene I painted after our first trip to Rome in 2004. It's a little frame shop down a side street called Via Margutta, on our way to Piazza del Popolo.

Ok, so it's been a while since I've uploaded some new images, so here are a couple that are basically finished. I hope you like them. The first one is a scene in Rome which is a ristorante on the path to the Pantheon, which is well traveled. Sold

Plein air Los Rios, San Juan Capistrano

Amanda and I did some plein aire painting today at Los Rios street in San Juan Capistrano. It was a beautiful day. Amanda is a member of Socalpapa and I will be also in the near future. That is the group we were out with. We each did two paintings. These are about 90% and 80% done. The light runs out so fast late in the afternoon. I did the first one in about 3 hours or so, and the second one only had brief time of about 2 hours, along with lunch, and the conversations about art with other artists, as well as interested people who walk up and want to talk to the artist. Not bad.......please feel free to comment.

Welcome to my new virtual studio. I am setting out to be an artist in the truest sense. Here will be all my completed works on view. So, welcome all art lovers.

Here is my first piece, a scene from Tuscany, somewhere between Siena and Montepulciano, from a trip last year in November. It was a brisk day and the last bits of light were cast between the shadows of the clouds on the hillsides in warm tuscan colors. I hope you enjoy viewing my work.
